This is meeeee...
-My name is Amanda. My username came from a nickname I had in high school. It's a fun story. Only not.
-I'm twenty-one years old. The fact that I am in my twenties scares the bejesus out of me.
-I'm a junior at Missouri State. I'm double majoring in Sociology and Criminology.
-I want to go to grad school for Social Work. Or law school. I haven't actually decided which one yet.
-I want to either work in the juvenile justice system, in a domestic violence shelter, or for Planned Parenthood.
-I'm from Indianapolis, Indiana. I really miss it. I'm going to move back there after I finish my undergrad.
-Going along with that, I love my Colts.
-At home (which is my dad's house) I have two kitties named Elroy and Astro. They are awesome.
-At my mom's house, I have three dogs named Midnight, Missy, and Spooky, three cats named Baby, Sassy, and Jojo, and a turtle named Barney. Basically, I have a mini zoo.
-I really love animals and I'll probably have an entire house full of them one day.
-I have an amazing family. I love them all. They are very supportive of everything I do and they helped shape me into the person I am today.
-I also have a lot of amazing friends. I don't know what I would do without them.
-I have the best guy a girl could ask for. =)
-I'm really active in campus activities. I serve on various committees and I am the secretary of College Democrats, as well as a member of both BiGALA and Sociology Club. I am currently in the midst of starting up a chapter of VOX.
-I do a lot of volunteer work with Planned Parenthood. I really enjoy it and I feel like it has brought me out of my shell.
-I've been baby-sitting since I was twelve. I really do love kids even if some of them drive me nuts. I hope to adopt my own someday.
-I'm a pretty liberal individual. I'm not annoying about it, but I'm also not shy to vocalize my beliefs when the time comes.
-I'm a feminist as well. I'm not in the man-hating camp, but I do take it pretty seriously. Say what you will about it...I know my beliefs are correct. =) Oh, and I met Jessica Valenti and she signed my copy of "Full Frontal Feminism". That means I am cooler than you.
-As far as religion goes, I consider myself Catholic even though I definitely don't agree with a lot of what the church teaches. I don't think that all gay people are going to Hell and I think birth control is a good thing.
-That's about it. I'm pretty boring, I'd say.
